Hi Everyone. We've just become Skoda owners for the first time - a very nice Karoq Edition 1.5 TSI 150PS DSG auto, 18 months old in red with one or two extras over the standard Edition. Replaces a 14 year old VW Passat which has been very reliable so staying with VAG.

Very pleased so far but taking a while to understand some of the unfamiliar tech and trying to get the online features set up.

I fear you could be starting out on a similar road to that which I've encountered with my 2023 1.5SEL - see the topic "?Appalling AfterSales Service?"

I'm afraid I can't suggest any solutions (at the moment) - on the Briskoda forum there are posts indicating that Skoda ceased producing downloadable handbooks in .pdf format a couple of years ago.

Good Luck !

I actually got a hard copy handbook with my Karoq, built October last year. I will try to help with queries if I can.

Thanks all. We did get a hard copy handbook so have been reading through that about setting some of the tech up.

Remote access and Infotainment Online service packages had expired and not been renewed by previous owner so I've signed up for a month free trial of each. The online traffic updates to the nav in the infotainment online package are the main thing we would be interested in long term, but we'll see what proves to be useful in these next few weeks. Also paid the £9.99 to trial the Cubic data access for a month but I doubt we will renew that as we are unlikely to use it for much more than getting Internet radio.

As for Aftersales Service, I'm not expecting much (if we should need it) as we bought from a Nissan dealer - the previous owner only had the Karoq for 3 months before deciding they much preferred a Qashqai which is what they had had previously so they traded back to one of those. We'll most likely be using our local Skoda dealer if needs be, although there is a small independant we trust which specialises in VAG cars that we used for some work on our old Passat.

Well, Good luck to the chap that swapped the Karoq for a Qashqai. One of the worlds most unreliable cars!!! (the old ones were terrific, I had an 08reg and it was faultless, The modern ones are reportedly rubbish!) Serve hime right!

Hi I have had a Karoq 1.5SEL DSG Red Velvet from new 2018, not used satnav much as I wanted digital speed display and could not see manoeuvres on split screen.

As far as the car it is very comfortable and a pleasure to drive, previously had an Audi quattro Q3 DSG 2.0 diesel and prefer Karoq. My wish is that it was available in a self charging version as I do not like all electric since the infra-structure is not in place yet and it takes too long to charge (if you can find a suitable point). A larger car will not fit my garage.

Unsure how to post my first comments etc, wrong age to be computer familiar.

Hi Tiptonian, we bought a Karoq Sportline on a 70 plate in April, having run a lovely Freelander for 5 years (thanks Mr Khan 🤬)
After the Freelander and its JLR system it took us a while getting our heads around Skoda infotainment but eventually got there. I’m of an age where I’ve always played cd’s, either by way of a unit in the car as was the case of our Subarus or by download (Freelander) so using Amazon CarPlay etc still doesn’t come naturally.
You’ll get there . . . . . just may take a while if you’re a technophobe

I found Amazon Music to be rubbish in my Karoq and for that reason subscribed to Spotify which is miles better when using Android Auto.
