Skoda Karoq

I have a new Skoda Karoq The Scoda name on the tailgate has a letter V above the name Scoda. any ideas. why. regards Bill

The v-shaped mark (háček) over some Czech consonants alters the sound of the consonant. In Skoda it changes from 'sssskkoda' as we pronounce it to 'ssshhhkkoda'.

Indeed... listen carefully to any current Skoda advert on TV at present. Shkoda it is!!

Takes me back to when I was a Citroën driver. If you call it a Citron in France, it sounds like a lemon. You have to say Citro-enn!
