Further to my earlier comments on crunching gearbox. Car was returned to garage as skoda agreed there was a problem with some gearboxes at my cars age. Box was dismantled and rebuilt with replacement offending parts, but no Improvement. Returned again and demanded NEW gearbox. This was accepted eventually, after 9 weeks without the car. However there was still no Improvement. Thankfully the dealer agreed there was still a fault after driving the car and also agreed to take it back, returning almost all of my money. A shame really as the karoq, my second, was the perfect car for my needs. Would not risk buying another as the quality seems to have deteriorated.

I have great sympathy with you chaps with 'wonky' gear boxes.
I must say that having had 8 almost fault free Skodas, (Fabia estate,3 Yetis, 1 Karoq! (early adopter, & it was the most problematic) 3 Karoqs, all 8 were DSG)

Being a Mod on both the Kodiaq & Karoq Fora I was seeing more and more complaints on most models.

VAG as a group appear to have lost their grip (and their reputation) on reliability.

I was very sad to give up on Skoda but was not prepared to risk having any of the often serious problems that I was coming across, so I 'jumped ship'. I am sorry to say I would not consider any VAG car, they all seem to be going the same way.

Went to Honda (also have had 8 of those) but finally decided on an eNiro and I can say it is the best of the 79 cars I have owned, so I will be sticking with them, especially has they have a 7 year warranty (bettered only by Toyota's 10 year warranty)
I personally cannot understand any manufacturers having so little confidence in their products that they only give 3 years
Even Rolls Royce only offer 4, Lambo and Ferrari 3 years!! Would you pay £200K for a car with only 3 years?

So saying, any of you within reach of the New Forest or Christchurch, you have, in my experience, the best Skoda dealer.
MEADENS. Skoda dealer of the year on more than one occasion. They know how to treat their customers.
I dealt with them on all my Skodas, i spite of living 20 miles away!
