Caution: Engine Running w loud beeping

Hi,

My Karoq has recently started showing Caution: Engine Running accompanied by a loud beeping noise while the car is stationary (eg sitting at traffic lights).

I couldn’t see any description of this in the manual or from other searches online, any idea what might be causing this?

Tried switching the start/stop function off and back on but hasn’t resolved it.

Car was serviced 3-4 months ago and working fine otherwise.

Any tips or suggestions appreciated!

That sounds like the warning and noise made when you open the drivers door with the engine running.
Do you also get a 'door open' icon ?
Possibly a faulty door sensor/limit switch

Thanks for the reply Ian. No door open icon showing but the faulty sensor suggestion sounds like it could be right as it is similar to the warning when there is a door open. Will get it checked out and report back.
