D1 not engaging ! Pls help

Hi im having skoda Rapid AT transmission and im facing a different issue where my D1 doesnt engage even after hault it stays on D2 only but if i switch to manual mode it comes to 1st gear but at the same time if i change to D mode it goes to D2 not D1 ! I tried to change gearbox basic settings from the authorised service center but the issue hasnt gone ! Could you pls tell any solution for it.FYI its not happening everytime !! Among 50 times 25 times the D1 comes as normal and 25 times its not coming.This occurs while driving in city traffic not in highways

You're not using the Eco drive mode are you?

It could be the gearbox thinks its ok to pull away in 2nd , point uphill and pull away it should always go into 1st [depending on steepness ] .

I'd agree with mic44. My car will start moving in D1, but change up to D2 almost immediately on level roads. However if your car definitely always starts moving in D2 then it sounds like a trip to an expert is required. Out of interest, does this behaviour change in Eco mode (E1/E2) or Sport mode (S1/S2)?
