Hi, getting a 18 plate 1.5 Edition on Friday. The dealer is pushing hard to sell gap insurance and lifeshine but seems expensive at £500 each. Any thoughts/advice welcome . Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the forum. and your new (to you) Skoda.
I have never used GAP. I have been driving for 50 years and never written a car off, had one stolen or caught fire.
personally i think it it a scam.
If you are determined to take out GAP insurance try looking on the on the internet for a much cheaper option. Car manufacturers GAP policiecis are notoriously expensive.
Take your pic.
Good luck.

Never used any GAP or paint or upholstery protection products they promote , too dear , if you polish and wax enough you get the same protection but you have to work for it

If you do feel you need GAP insurance, you will find it much cheaper online.

Thank you for all the advice. I have never had GAP insurance either but, as you suggested, looked at getting quotes and the cheapest was £160. Can't wait to pick it up. I have had a Seat Leon 1.4 tech FR for 7 years and loved it. Do you recommend going to the dealer for accessories or are there better places? Will need a boot mat and dog guard. Thanks again for all your advice.

As far as a lot of polishing is concerned.
I bought a bottle of ceramic coating from Halfords. (Various makes available.
Very easy to put on and produces a lustrous finish which cause water to 'ball up' and roll off and makes the removal of bird poo much easier.
With a remarkable shine.
