My dsg doesn't like changing up to 7th gear, even on a long downhill stretch of road. I can force it using manual M7 only. What is the criteria for a change from 6 up to 7?
Which engine do you have? (Different DSG units are fitted to different engines). What revs are needed to get yours to change up?

If it helps , my 1.5 SeL DSG changes up, on light throttle, at about 2000 rpm. So will go into 7th at around 60mph
Thanks Ian. I'll bear that in mind and check mine.ust admit my speed had been fairly limited due to our local roads. I didn't notice my speed or whether the car got into 7th when I had driven on a faster road!
I find a slight lift of the throttle will get the car to change up. I find this more so in a lower gear. I run my car in Eco mode which changes up earlier anyway.
It will vary of course with different driving modes. In Sport mode I think mine will stay in 6th gear for ever.
