My 1.5 DSG Karoq Edition is coming up to 5 years old, it has only done 27K. It is going in for a service next month, It has been mentioned that the cam belt should be changed. Is this really the case?

If the cam belt fails, you will probably need a new engine! And they are as likely to fail due to old age as they to mileage.

So I wouldn't risk it myself.
