Just bought a 2020 Karoq

Hi All,

We just bought a 2020 Karoq, SE L 2.0 150 PS diesel 4x4 a couple of days ago, and very pleased with it so far. But it's way more complicated than our previous 2010 Ford Focus! The user manual is helpful, but not helpful enough I'm finding, so decided I will need help from other owners, hence joining here. I'm amazed at how much the technology has changed in the space of 10 years! Part of the complexity is also the way that how something works depends on you you have set up something else to work. e.g. If auto stop/start is enabled, then the engine starts when you lift your foot off the brake if auto-parking is off, but only starts when you press the accelerator if auto-parking is on; sensible but confusing! (I think I got that the right way round).

Depending on the options fitted to your new car (is the 4x4 always DSG or do you have a manual gearbox?) there can be even more differences! With my DSG 4x4 the engine will restart as soon as a stopped car in front of me moves away!

Sorry, forgot to say - DSG. My first time with an automatic, and at almost age 71 that is quite a transition, but finding it really good. Yes I think mine has that option but not sure I would enable it - want to still feel the car is letting me do some of the driving .
