I use Android (a Galaxy S8 when I was getting the fault). The software update cured it, and a change to a Galaxy S23 this month hasn't caused any problems.

So out of curiosity what phones are people using?
.

I hope I'm not peeing on your firework, but prior to getting the workshop-only software update (which fixed it), there were at least two occasions when the SOS thing happened without there being a phone in the car at all.

Fancy not having a phone with me.

Cripes!

How did we ever manage twenty five years ago?

I think you will find (unless Skoda have changed the system since my Karoq) that you do NOT NEED a phone in the car for the SOS. The car has it's own SIM card and will ring automatically in the event of an accident which activates the airbags.
It was a real pain in the *rse on my 2017 Kodiaq, Dealer had three attempts at getting it to work, Like wise the electric boot lid, which had a mind of it's own and the stupid, unnecessary pop out door guards.

VAG seem to have a real problem with software. The early ID3 infotainment set up was panned by reviewers as being not fit for purpose.
If the Japanese & Koreans can get their tech to work faultlessly why can't VAG??

I’ve literally just driven my second hand bought 20 plate home from the dealer over 200 miles away, and had the sos message 2 times within the trip. It seemed to send my Satnav (ŠKODA) haywire, but also my WAZE app went doolally and froze eventually too which seems inexplicable as I wouldn’t think they were on any way connected?

As I get a 12 month warranty with approved Skoda, will this issue be looked at under used car warranty? My big question is, does this supersede all other errors and stop them showing?! As if I had pressure drop etc, I’m expecting it should still show?

Any help appreciated.

My original Kodiaq (the 6th to be registered in the U.K. So a VERY early one) had the SOS fault within 3 weeks of buying it and the dealer tried three times to correct it and couldn't . Obviously being brand new the software was up to date.
After great deal of faffing about including a visit by the SUK software guru. It turned out to be a duff SIM card.
Then the electric boot lid decide to misbehave, then one of the popout door guards decided not to retract and got chopped off when the door was closed. (not by me I hasten to add).
Moral of this sad tale is never be an early adopter of a new model.

Hello! New to the forum and Karoq's and not had the start we wanted!...

Unfortunately 45 minutes after driving our new (to us) 2020 Karoq home we got the dreaded SOS message. First it was just the message but now its really messing with Car Play when the error arises and it comes on most days. The car has been back to the dealer we bought it from, not Skoda but a private reputable place. They took it to a local specialist and updated the car software. From what I can see the infotainment is still on 0270 which is frustrating as I thought they'd update the lot. After the car update yesterday we got the error again and now if you place a call using CarPlay the person on the end of the phone can't hear the person in the car. Very annoying!

Is there an actual fix for this issue now? After a lot of Googling and searching there doesn't seem to be many new topics on this and finding a proper solution doesn't seem to be available!

Any help is appreciated! I can't believe Skoda haven't addressed this!

I had this issue twice. Both times software updates failed to cure it. It has two new 'aerials' and now seems ok, although I havent used it much since it was last in. Luckily mine was under warranty. You will find an earlier post from me near the top of the thread.
