Repairs to the DSG can be exorbitant, so it's an insurance problem against unexpected costs. I bought a 5 year factory warranty with my car for that very reason.

I had a first MOT a couple of weeks ago and was offered 25% off service plans by the customer service team. Have since had a couple of emails offering the same for £20.25pm
Unless I’m missing something this isn’t a bad offer - it would include 2 x MOT (£56pa?) 2 x services (let’s say £250pa) - and I can’t see Skoda dropping these prices. The car’s still under warranty until April 2025 so I would likely be going into the main dealers for the annual service, rather than an independent.
