2018 Karoq: Download of updated maps has not worked

Hi guys I am in a similar position in having downloaded map zipped folder to pc and 'unzipped'it ready for transfer to original Skoda SD card but -
1. Do I format (or just delete data on) the SD card first before transferring map data thus losing all data on the SD card or
2 Try to transfer, if possible, without deleting or formatting the card?
Advice please.

I would save the original data to your pc before wiping the card for the new data, or get another card to put the new data onto.
