Hi - I'm the proud owner of a 2020 Edition 1.5 DSG - planning to buy a caravan soon. I'd love to have the drop down factory fitted towbar retro-fitted - has anyone had this done at a Skoda dealer (or elsewhere??) and how much did it cost??

There's quite a long thread at viewtopic.php?f=8&t=132 which discusses this.

With the need to modify the electronics controlling the rear sensors, rear fog light etc, it sounds like it needs to be done properly, and gets pretty expensive. Although I suppose it's not that much compared with the cost of the caravan??

I've just bought a 2018 karoq 1.5 se with only 1100 miles on the clock , the previous owner had a swan tow bar fitted by a cowboy who didn't use a Skoda wiring harness or configure the computer .
It caused a front assist and reversing sensors not to work , which ment I got the car at a discount .
Its been to a Skoda garage who sorted the errors out by making the computer ignore the tow bar electrics ,which means I can't use it.
They quoted £1500 to fit a Skoda tow bar and electrics , but I went to a tow bar fitter and there going to fit a Skoda wiring harness and sort the electrics and sensors for £320 which I can live with.
Hope the info on £1500 gives you a starting point
