Skoda Karoq

Post by quinton77 » Mon May 20, 2019 6:23 am

Hello everyone,

Any opinions on this car? I was interested in a octavia but looking at the karoq it seems to tick all the right boxes.

It comes at a decent price for what it's offering. The upper trim level Style has a lot of features included (led headlights, Acc), and the 1.5L Tsi with ACT sounds like a good deal on paper.

One wierd thing I noticed, when I did a car configuration, you can get the heated windshield only on diesel versions and not petrol. This made me wonder if being a new entry will bring its share of problems later on...even though it's basically a tweaked Tiguan.

Thank you!

Hi quinton77, there's a wealth of information - the good, the bad and the ugly throughout this forum and others. Despite my own issues, which are easily dealt with by turning off auto-hold the car's positive points far outweigh the bad (in my case at least). Regarding trim levels I have an SE L, which ticks most of the boxes.

I'm on my second Karoq (1.5DSG Edition) previous Karoq 1.5DSG SE L> Kodiaq 1.4 DSG SE L> Yeti>Yeti>Yeti> Fabia estate.

Note that if you go for a NEW Edition, you can only get it with 4WD (2WDEdition, no longer available)

Don't touch derv. Residuals will continue to drop faster than petrol and 1.5 engine 2WD does about 33/44 mpg and 4WD about 30/40 MPG. So bearing in mind the extortionate cost of derv, you hardly any better off. Do the sums if considering derv!
