Hi.

Just got a brand new Karoq Sprotline and I discovered the SD card has been improved into a pair of USB 3 slots.

My question:

Can I permanently upload media to the vehicle? or is music now dependent on the contents of my phone?

My understanding is that USB C is a type of USB connector, while USB 3 is a speed standard for USB cables and devices in general.

Regarding the original question I don't think that there is any memory in the car to hold music. Music must be held on an external device just like the SD card (or a USB memory stick) on older models. The USB C port (USB A on older models ) is what is used to make the connection.

I have an adapter cable USB C to USB3 female. I can read USB sticks but when I try to use a branded USB to SD card adapter it is not recognised. My unbranded one worked for a while then gave up. Resorted to 128GB USB 3 memory stick with about 100GB of music on it. Still get the previous MIB2 problem of images not showing on screen in Media. If I go into Images in the menu they come up there. Thought this might have been fixed in MIB3.

OK - thanks for all the replies.

They are USB C sockets, I misnamed them in the original post.

I guess I will just have to use the music stashed on my phone memory if the radio is too dull.

Just transfer your music onto a USB memory card. I have one with a USB-C plug at one end to plug into the car socket, and a standard USB plug at the other end to plug into my PC. When in the car, the sliding cover can still close.

A typical one is https://www.mymemory.co.uk/integral-128 ... 0mb-s.html
but bigger capacity chips are also available.
