Has anybody found a useful replacement for the Coin/cup/key tray that wastes so much space in the centre console? It seems such a rubbish thing. the cup holder bits are too small and the whole thing just wastes space. if you have the remote key facility why even take it out of your pocket to store in the tray.

I had an "ashtray for cup holder" with lid on my yeti. It fits in the cup 'hole' in the Karoq and I keep coins in it for parking

The whole tray lifts out if you don't need it, or can be replaced upside-down to take up even more space. I also have the ashtray device in one of my cupholders to take sweet papers. In my Golf I had a shortbread tin to hold the sweets but it won't fit in the Karoq's cupholders. However a small takeaway coffee mug does instead. The slots will also hold coins or credit cards for toll bridges or car parks etc.

I find it very handy for my keys when returning home. As my remote garage door opener is on this rather than fiddling around in my pocket to get the keys. Leave keys in pocket other wise. I do use the cup holders for cans of drink (not cups) but as said you can just take it out or reverse for raised tray.
