I am considering purchasing a new Karoq 4x4. I do know that the Octavia has a HUD as an optional extra. Can the Karoq have this option fitted to it?

That will probably depend on which country you live in (which you have not quoted) and will be answered if you download the latest price and spec brochure for your country.

Yes thanks for that. I’m in the UK and will obviously talk to Skoda themselves, but I don’t always expect to get the right answer from them, past experience of my local dealer!! Just hoped someone could tell me if the HUD in the Octavia can be factory fitted or retro fitted into the Karoq.

It's not shown as an option for the Karoq, so you'd need to ask specialists if they could fit one from an Octavia. I'm not familiar with it, but would it need some modifications to the top of the dashboard as well as the electronics?

I had a HUD fitted to my 2017 Octavia which I purchased online, and I have now upgraded the Octavia to a 2019 Karoq and removed the HUD from the Octavia and set it up in the Karoq with minimal effort.......pretty simple to do

Thanks Ian, most helpful. Will certainly try to get Skoda to do just that. Cheers - Tony Smith

I did it myself and I’m not a mechanical person, but had it checked months later by an auto electrician who told me it was all good, i have also fitted one to my older model Jeep and it has been up and running for years, you just need to plug into the diagnostic thingy under the steering wheel dash cover and run the connection up the side and fit it to the HUD which you place on the dash and direct the display to the small screen which is supplied with the HUD and sticks on the windscreen....10 minutes work

Just curious, but what is displayed on the HUD?

Depends on what brand of HUD you fit, one on my Karok only shows Speed, and revs while the one on my Jeep has a bit more detail, but look up the specs when you decide

Thanks Ian.

I have no interest in fitting an HUD, I was just curious.
