Interesting as to whether it is covered by the DVSA/Vosa reporting system.

With the system 'crying wolf' like this you may miss a truly serious fault so perhaps DVSA should take an interest.

This has just happened to my wife on a 300 mile trip. Thankfully she used her phone sat nav but it hadn’t reset when turning the ignition off.

The app isn’t updating the stats which I assume is because the infotainment is not working?

Latest update on my car.
Assured by service manager that they could resolve the SOS problem. Beadles Skoda Southend had the car for almost a week.
They assured me that problem rectified and it needed an update on system.
Clearly does not work as fault has returned yet again.
I am waiting for Skoda head office complaints and also the service manager to return my calls.
Absolute pile of rubbish.
Do not get a Skoda

Reading with interest.

Our Scala is going into Skoda today, after numerous issues with the SOS System activating. The information then tends to freeze and then gets stuck in a boot cycle. You can stop go for a coffee, restart the car and it's still not working. You loose everything, radio, Sat Nav, phone, etc. Recently we could not get heat from the climate control system after a particular crash event.

We had a couple of on drive visits from VW Assist, they just do a reset. Can't resolve issues and say you need to go to dealer.

Booking has taken 6 weeks to get a slot at Gatwick Skoda.

Monday car broke down, different this time. Anti-lock amber light and engine management amber light, car shuddering in drive. Again cleared by VW Assist.

Got so annoyed now, I've contacted CEO of garage group and we are swapping vehicle today until they resolve issues with the Scala. Disappointing, as fourth contract hire vehicle from either VW or Skoda. Up until this one, the cars have been perfect.

Garage finally helping which I'm pleased about.

Don't be misdirected by dealer / VW group, there is a serious issues with some of these cars.

Could it be something simple like a battery issue? Low battery voltage causes no end of mysterious problems.

I picked up my used Skoda Superb 1.5 SE DSG on Saturday (5 days ago) from Marshall Skoda Milton Keynes and sent a refund request yesterday night after discovering the hellish nightmare of the "SOS Error Emergency Call Workshop". The car is 9 months old and had covered 4300 miles. I had covered just 153.9 miles in 4 days before requesting a refund last night. My green SOS light went off, the error message appeared on the dash, the car tried to place 5 emergency calls to some weird 000011 number. I lost my phone microphone (I couldn't be heard) and almost had an accident trying to get the blasted thing to work.

Prior to this, on the day I picked it up, I was on my 2nd journey when the ACC randomly stopped working on the A406. I had to turn the car off and on again to get it working. I then had a sudden tire pressure monitoring system fault on Sunday when it said I had a sudden loss of pressure whilst driving on a smooth, straight road. Needless to say, there was no loss of pressure so I reset the system. Then on Monday I couldn't place a call and had to switch off the car and on again to get it working.

The SOS message last night was the final straw for me. I'm disgusted and disappointed. I did my due diligence before buying the car. I researched and nowhere did I see this issue mentioned in any of the long term ownership reliability reviews.

My pile of rubbish Skoda Karoq 2021 is going back to Skoda.
Probably best that they set fire to it as they don’t seem at all concerned that SOS contact workshop still continually comes up.
Stop start works when it feels like it.
Sat nav and radio is probably the worst I have ever used. Turns itself off whenever it feels like it and constantly asks how it can help, even though I haven’t spoken.
Juddery windscreen wipers.
The list could go on and on.
I have test driven the Peugeot 3008 and knocks spots off of my useless Karoq.
Just waiting for my new car to be manufactured and Skoda to compensate me

Dodgyskoda,

I'm hoping you've seen all the problems being reported on the Peugeot 3008 forum at https://www.3008forums.co.uk/ as otherwise you could be rather disappointed!

I think you are probably still biased towards the Skoda Chris.
All I can say is that in fifty years of driving, I have never experienced such a load of rubbish.
Obviously all cars have there problems, but normally they get resolved.
The car I have I think is a ticking time bomb and neither the manufacturer or dealer seem interested !!!
Enough said
