24 EU Software update

I've just been contacted by the dealer about a 24 EU software update. I asked about the reason and was informed that it was to remove a problem caused by too little torque at low speed, which is not related to the kangarooing experienced by some owners. Our Karoq with the DSG has never given any problems, but I'm having the update done on Friday and will report back if I notice any difference.

I was unaware of the need for the update until the Throttle Body of my 19reg 1.5TSI DSG Karoq failed recently while exiting the M25 to join the M11, power all but lost, just enough to crawl to the hard shoulder. Skoda Assist were excellent, but unable to resolve at the 'roadside' so they trailered the car and 2 back home then sent out an engineer a couple of days later.

At this second visit the Throttle Body was changed (I was not present with the engineer during this time) and athe 24EU recall update actioned.

Having found various comments, going back to well before I purchased my Karoq, on the internet about throttle body issues across the VAG group I raised this direct with Skoda. Sadly there response(s) have been woeful, two calls this week different people, saying they'll talk to the technical department, but sill nothing (Originally raised with them on 22/11/19. It seems that whilst the local deanship over a number of differs Skoda's in recent years have always been excellent, trying to get any form of resolution from Skoda HO is near impossible.

Have you asked to speak to a customer services MANAGER?
I must admit, having been a huge Skoda fan for 10 years the tales of non co-operation worry me. Any problems I have had have been dealt with, mainly by my wonderful dealer. As far as SUK is concerned, I find if you go as far up the pay grade as you can the more reaction and results you get. Just keep banging on until you become a a pain. Then they might sort it out just to get you off their backs. If it gets really bad threaten them with BBC Watchdog and the press.
I am keeping my fingers crossed, but if anything untoward does occur I shall sell it and go Japanese or Korean.
