Morning All

My 2018 2.0L 4x4 currenty has 225 45 19" tyres. I would like to acquire a new set of Goodyear EfficientGrip SUV tyres - but they are only available in a 225 55 19".

Would the arches and tyre spaces be ok with a change from 45 to 55 in profile ?

Can anyone advise please ?

Thank you

If you use a tyre calculator the rolling diameter of the 55 tyre is 6.57% greater than the 45 tyre. This means fewer revolutions of the wheel per mile and will make your speedo under-read, which is illegal, and also your odometer. Iit will also effectively increase your gear ratios, potentially affecing performance. The recommended maximum change in diameter is 2%, this is way in excess of recommendations.

Thanks for the response - although I was simply asking if anyone knows whether my model of vehicle has been tested and rated for the alternative tyre profile.

Anyone else ?

I believe it is possible to go to 235 width with the existing wheels and a 45 prifile would only increase diameter by 1.35, so that would be ok. Other than that you options would probably be to decrease wheel size.
