Hi

I’m thinking about this engine, without being disrespectful is this engine underpowered in a Karoq?

I’m currently in a 20 plate 1.5 Scala (which I wouldn’t say is quick off the blocks) would I notice much difference in a 1.0 litre. Also I currently average about 48mpg. I drive carefully but just concerned when pulling away etc if the 1.0 is up to it? Usually drive alone with a few toolboxes in the boot.

Hope this makes sense, thanks

I've currently got a 1.0TSI DSG Kamiq as a courtesy car while my dealer is sorting out my 2.0TSI Karoq.

In town, there is not too much difference, but when you hit a motorway there is an obvious lack of power in the 1.0 TSI. And that's without other passengers and luggage! Monitoring the fuel consumption, I'd say the 1.0TSI is very little better than my own car either!

Try one to see, but I wouldn't be happy with a 1.0 TSI Karoq :(

Two reasons I never went for the 1.0 L engine in my Skoda days,
Gutless on the open road/M way, as said above and being a 3pot engine, sounds like a tractor at tick over. I have had 1.4 Kodiaq 1.4L DSG & 3 Karoq1.5 Tsi DSG with active cylinder technology (Google it if you want a full explanation.)
This engine is, imo, the dog's danglers. Fast, good acceleration and passably frugal. 45-55mpg.
There is no comparison between the 1.o & 1.5.

I have a PSA car with a 3 pot engine. You can hardly hear it on tickover, so it isn't a general 3 pot trait.
