Contemplating a Karoq Edition

Hi all,

I had an Octavia L&K diesel for some years, then switched back to VW (first a Golf Plus and now a Golf SV (nee Sportsvan).

As this is now 5 years old I'm looking at possible replacements, and a Karoq Edition 1.5TSI DSG is high on my shortlist. I was considering a Kodiaq but can't really justify its size to myself (or my wife!) or a Tiguan SEL (but then they discontinued their Caribbean Blue).

Welcome to the forum.
What an excellent choice
The best thing about a Karoq over the Vdub is that you get a better built car for a lot less money!
Not that I'm biased of course, being on my SEVENTH Skoda. ;)

Caribbean is a lovely colour. Unfortunately Skoda are a bit boring with their palette.
Try my current colour, petrol blue, which really sparkles in the sun.

Or Race blue.

Hi Colin,

Yes the Race Blue is a big attraction for me, I'm really glad Skoda haven't held it back for the sporty trims only :)

I've seen a petrol blue in a dealer and it looks really good. I had the equivalent on a Seat (Lava Blue) and it looked good in all light...as long as the car was clean :D

Update: after compering specs and looking at lots of pictures - and waiting for the dealers to be able to open again! - I'm now leaning towards the Sportline instead. Mainly because I prefer the body colour bumpers and rear seat. OK, so the seat doesn't slide forward, but it has a central armrest that doesn't leave a gaping hole into the boot either, and you can have a variable boot floor in it.

When I bought my Karoq Scout the salesman told me that he wasn't disappointed - he was lined up to have it as his company car but as I had bought it it meant he could have a Sportline instead. If the salesman likes the Edition that much then it must be good :)

 Now lockdown is over I've bitten the bullet and ordered a Race Blue Karoq 2.0TSI 4x4 DSG! It's a factory order and likely to be a MY21 car and delivered in September.

I've added a heated windscreen & steering wheel, virtual display, progressive steering/DCC (to ensure the bigger wheels aren't too uncomfortable), crew protect assist, spare wheel, driver assist pack, traffic sign recognition & auto lights.

My local Crewe dealer seemed eager to do a deal, and met my expectations for a P/X value for my Golf and a discount on the new car.

I asked what the likely MY21 changes were, and he said that all he'd heard so far was the chrome roof rails would be optional for the Sportline. (He's promised to send me details when he hears any more, but says Area View will not be coming  )

Yes, the dealer was saying August/September... Now my present Golf arrived at my dealers in mid-February, and as the sales manager wanted to improve his February sales targets he bribed me to take delivery on the 24th instead of waiting for the 14 reg cars from 1st March. As I use a personal number plate, and was planning on keeping it for 5 years, it seemed worth getting a discount for taking my new car early! (From memory I think it was around £350.)

I wonder if it will happen again this summer??

Well bugger!

My Karoq was built on the 21st of October, and I've even got hold of its VIN. But unless it was landed at Grimsby this weekend, and my dealer is able to get it shipped to Crewe and prepped by Wednesday, it looks like I won't be seeing it until the 3rd of December at the earliest now!

The wait goes on!!
