Time and Date Problem

I parked my car for a couple of hours this afternoon and when I returned and started it up the date shown had become 1.1.2013 and the time 1am. I went into the menu for the time and date setting to discover that the GPS option had disappeared and I could only correct the time and date manually, whereas it had previously been set on the GPS option. Can anyone please shed some light on this and also advise how to restore the GPS option. (The SatNav was still working properly - just the time and date going wrong.)
