My wipers have decided to just come on whenever they like, sometimes its just 1 wipe and sometimes 3 or 4 and then nothing for ages. It is driving me insane. Any ideas on what could be causing this?

I have tried turning auto wipe in rain off, but it still happens

If you've turned off the rain-sensing autowipe feature, then the only thing I can think of is a fault in the wiper switch or its wiring. :(
