Hi all,

Just wanted to share my installation of my Nextbase dashcam that I have hardwired into my new 21 Karoq.

I purchased a hard wire kit from Amazon and gained access to the fuse box that is easily accessible from inside the glove box.

The side panel where the airbag switch is located also pops off for an easy way to route the cables to the fuse box. (Make sure you do not disconnect the side panel from the wiring as this will cause a error warning for the airbag when you start the car and requires the dealer to reset it).

I used fuse 47 that is for the rear window wiper. I chose this as it is only live on the ignition is on.

I also earthed out the dashcam using one of the bolts accessed from the side panel - easily done by just loosening the bolt, slipping the tab under and tightening this back up.

Wires hidden in the plastic lip using a plastic tool from eBay and excess cables zip tied up and tided away from the fuse box. I’ve been using it for over a month now and has worked great. I’ve even installed a rear view module that connects to the side of the dashcam and records out the back window - found this the best way to keep things tidy.

See attached photos. Hope this helps any new owners that are looking to do the same.

Luke
