I've had my Karoq for 5 months now and like it very much, it is a petrol SEL with push button start/stop. When it was new, when stopping the engine the automatic parking brake engaged automatically, lately this hasn't happened and the parking brake needs to be manually applied or it rolls away. Is this a settings issue, a fault or am I having a senior moment?

Possibly a senior moment. (I Have many  )
Have you inadvertently turned the function OFF? If you have drive mode selection, the auto brake is the rear of the two buttons to the right of the gearstick (on the DSG anyway- but I can't see that would make any difference).

I only mentioned the drive mode selection to assist you in finding the auto brake button.
So I repeat. it should be to the right of the gearstick or somewhere on the centre console. Have you found it yet?
This is a 1.0L manual. On the DSG it is in the same place!Image

Had play and looked the book, you are right, there is a button there even on my basic car. I must have knocked it probably when driving across some fields last week.
The parking brake comes on now when I stop the engine, much cleverer than my old car.
Many thanks
