I can't think why I would want to push anywhere else... Perhaps that is why I have never had an issue with it?

Have fun,

Ian.

Very good Ian, when one first gets the vehicle you dont know where the latch is located so it may lead to thoughts that the flap is jammed.
On most cars Ive had it didnt matter where you pushed the fuel flap but on the karoq it seems you have to apply pressure at a precise point.

Embarrassment at petrol station yesterday, unable to open fuel filler flap on my new (650 miles) Karoq. Managed to get home OK and after several attempts I opened the flap and sprayed some silicon lubricant on the mechanism. It seemed to work but I took the opportunity to drive to the petrol station with the flap ajar to fill the tank. This morning it stuck again so a visit to the Skoda garage is planned. There is definitely a problem here.

Try thumping it with your knuckles near the latch end. Worked for me.
Or push it and then try to prize open with small penknife blade.

‘Prise open with a small penknife blade”
If your headlights fail glue a candle holder on the lense and should your satnav not work just carry a compass and map.

Apparently this is a known issue on other models. At the base of the spline sits a small motor which operates the unit. It needs to be changed at a Skoda dealer if its faulty. Do not force open the cap.

I think you'll find the only time the motor operates is when you lock the car. With the car unlocked the flap is just a 'push-push latch like a kitchen cupboard.
Of course I may be wrong!!

Had same problem with my Karoq, use both hands one on top of flap one below, press in together to open, this worked for me.

I have had the same issue, it’s because there is a plastic plate in the actual flap which the locking solenoid presses on. This is plastic and broke completely off on my Karoq. On some I’m sure is has bent. It’s definitely a design fault.
