Air filter change and odd smell

Hi all,

I replaced both the pollen cabin filter and the main engine air filter in my Karoq on Sunday. I've noticed yesterday and today a bit of a odd smell when the air con or just the fans blowing. I've checked the connections on the engine filter unit and all pipes etc are back firmly in place as they were before the exchange.

Is this normal when you have brand new air filters? I don't recall this happening in my previous car, albeit I didn't change the filters in that for 2 years before I sold it.
