Re: LED headlights - one disadvantage I had not considered

Ian’s posting confirms the worry I had about automatic beam assist when ordering my Karoq. I love “gadgets” but eventually decided beam assist was a gizmo too far for me and didn’t opt for it. I’m sure many will be happy with it but having driven in excess of 1.5 million miles, starting with a dip/m...

Re: What did you drive before the Karoq?

I had a Yeti 4x4 Outdoor Diesel with DSG. I loved the car but had to change it to a car I could sit in the passenger seat with leg in plaster (I’m 6’7”) so swapped for a BMW X1 which I suffered for 14 months.... the seat was in leather and had raised stitching where the seat catches just under the t...

Re: Heated Windscreen

I had the heated windscreen on my Yeti and it was a no-brainer when ordering the Karoq, but this time I added heated steering wheel as well as the heated screen as I have a circulation problem in my hands and they get very cold... the heated steering wheel solves the problem. One thing which some do...

Re: Auto stop start delay please!

If it cuts out at a junction...... turn the steering wheel slightly and it will restart, making it safer for a quick exit!

Re: DELIVERY DELAYS

Just had an update.... handover will be on 18th December. I would delay it until January but there is a problem with the front adaptive suspension on my X1 and as I am going to do lots of miles over the Christmas period I want to be safe.

Re: A short break in service.

Very best of luck Colin. It certainly makes my TKR sound like an inconvenience! You wished me a speedy recovery on the Yeti Forum when I had it done. As a matter of interest my mum in law had one of the very early hips done in ‘68 and the other one done shortly after. The first was replaced after ab...

Re: LED headlights - one disadvantage I had not considered

Wow! Thank you so much for posting this. I`d never have thought of it. I`d probably have got in the car, switched on the heated screen and heated steering wheel and driven off! I can`t thank you enough for raising the issue.

Re: Are you going for 2 Wheel Drive or 4 Wheel Drive

I have had a Toyota Corolla 4x4, a Toyota Camry 4x4 (a rare beast), a Landrover and a Yeti 4x4 interspersed with a few two wheel drive cars. I have to admit the 4x4 was fantastic on wet roads but I never really saw any snow while I had them. Every time I changed from a four wheel drive vehicle back ...

Re: DELIVERY DELAYS

I ordered my 1.5 TSi SE L DSG, with many options, on 11th October. The build week was initially down for wk48. It was changed to wk 46 then slipped to wk 47. I have just had an email from the dealership, with a screenshot of the order from Skoda, showing the car has been built (“Production Finished”...

Re: New here

Strict running in is a thing of the past. All you have to do is not let the engine labour (almost impossible with DSG) and don't rev the nuts off it. Try to keep it below 4k revs. All for 2k miles, (like wot she sed!) I believe the tyres and brakes need more running in or bedding in than the engine...
