Re: Service schedule query

So no 'long life' oil for Skoda services then? When I book my car in for a service (Citigate, Slough) they offer me an "oil upgrade" at extra cost. I did ask whether that means that they generally use oil that does not meet the manufacturers specification. However, apart from a red face, ...

Re: Service schedule query

The 10K miles is actually an overestimate. The fixed interval servicing is at 15,000 Km or about 9,300 miles. Few manufacturers (if any) now do an early check on their cars; why would they when they tell us that modern vehicles do not need to be run in? PCP companies apparently do not like cars on t...

Re: corning lights

On older Karoqs (and I have no reason to assume that new ones are different) both the cornering lights also come on when engaging reverse gear. If you want to check simply stop the car facing a shop window or similar reflective surface and put the car into reverse.

Have fun,

Re: Dash cam diy

I have a Thinkware dashcam, front and rear. No issues with anything, but I did not let a Skoda dealer fit it (or Halfords!)

Have fun,

Re: Tyres

My fronts were worn to the point that I could not live with them any more by 20K miles. Protyre (Slough branch) checked the tracking and confirm that all was well, no adjustment needed. I am not a heavy-footed driver so put it down to the Bridgestone Touranzas being poor on wear as well as grip. To ...

Re: Booboo wants a new set of boots

I have CrossClimate SUVs on my Karoq (215/50/18) they are a huge improvement wet and dry over the original equipment Bridgestone Touranzas. The CrossClimates are quieter, grip better under all conditions, rarely lose grip when pulling away (something the Bridgestones did all the time, even when bein...

Re: Skoda Connect - don't think I'll bother

I have not bothered with Skoda Connect as nobody has been able to suggest anything even remotely useful that it could do for me. I'm afraid that it feels like a "got to have one of these" feature driven by marketing types who have forgotten that the primary function of a car is to provide ...

Re: Graunching/screeching rear pads

Thanks for the thought Trogglet. Has anybody changed the rear pads and discs on a Karoq themselves? I am thinking I may risk a skinned knuckle rather than fork out the money that the local main dealer wants or even the price the local independent wants to charge. The last car I changed brake pads on...

Re: Start / stop

I have just charged my battery because I have been concerned my car has struggled to turn over although always started now showing a standing voltage of 12.26V when running I am only getting 13.3V and that is without anything on someway short of the 14.1+ mentioned would you think I have an alterna...

Re: Service schedule?

Flexible Service schedules are only recommended if you drive more than 10,000 miles per year, and although your car is normally supplied set to the flexible service schedule (where the car's computer decides when it's time for an oil change) the supplying dealer will set it to whichever you want on...
