Re: Unable to open fuel filler flap

Skoda's system is ludicrously over engineered. as you lock/unlock the car the locking bar, operated by a solenoid CORKSCREWS in and out with a double lug on the end which screws itself in and out of the tongue on the lid. this unit can seize up and mere solenoid power is not sufficient to break it f...

Re: Faulty electronic tailgate

Open it as far as possible electrically and then lift it up to it' full extent manually, then close it electrically.
If this doesn't work do the first part but then pull it down manually. then try on the key fob, tailgate handle and drivers door switch.
If no joy, call the dealer.
Hope this helps.

Some surprising tyre news.

I had to replace two Goodyear all seasons today due to 'sidewall bubbles'. I asked the manager of Protyre Poole about Michelin Cross Climate as I have always been a Michelin fan. His comment was (verbatim) " I wouldn't recommend Michelin to anybody". The reason he gave was that they were l...

Re: Skoda rubbish juddery wipers.

Sent to Skoda Customer services 13.25 27th June '21. Good Afternoon, This is a very common problem with both Kodiaqs and Karoqs. Complaints are frequently cropping up on both forums. Why should your customers have to spend £19 beyond the not inconsiderable cost of both models mentioned above to have...

Re: Hi from a potential new owner

Depends on the aspect. 19 inch on my Edition were fitted with 45. 19 inch on my current Sportline fitted with 40. Why the hell Skoda fit sports car tyres on an SUV God alone knows. MORONS! If I had wanted rubber band tyres I would have bought a sports car NOT an SUV! Neither have I found acceptable,...

Re: drivers seating position

I can't comment on how difficult it may be to remove the seat. Sounds like typical dealer 'don't want this job' attitude. Unfortunately I have a very jaded view of moro trade groups, Having worked for SHELL retail market all my life I have always found dealer groups, in the main, offer inferior serv...

Re: drivers seating position

Did you read my reply?
If it's possible the dealer blocks option would not cost you £250. That sounds exorbitant to me, sounds like they don't want the job and are trying to put you off.

Rear camera washer jet snapped off. HELP!

Some idiot has snapped off the above. NOT ME! When I try to wash the camera it ends up washing the road 3 feet behind the car! I've found a replacement jet on line, but I think the tailgate interior panel might have to come off. Or can I just pull the old one out and push the new one in? Any ideas i...

Re: Hi from a potential new owner

I can't remember the size of my SE L's tyres. My current one has 19" 'rubber band' tyres. Very bad ride and begging to be curbed, to the degree that I paid £300 for a set of 16" wheels and tyres, from a Yeti owning friend. Far better. Re spare. I bought a brand new (well never used anyway)...
