Re: Plastic engine cover

Further updates. I have seen reports that newer engines have repositioned ancillary equipment around the engine that prevents a full cover being fitted. These engines will have a smaller cover fitted over part of the engine only. But in Germany, owners who had the covers removed are being told that ...

Re: Plastic engine cover

In April 2022, there was a safety recall for several VAG cars fitted with the 2.0 TSI engine and made between 2022 and 2022. There had been a few cases where the engine cover came loose under violent acceleration and fell down between the engine and the bulkhead, then caught fire. Details are at htt...

Re: New Owner, Couple of questions please.

You cannot rely on the speed limit info for 2 reasons. First the limit may have changed and the map may not be uddated. Second, the camera obviously relies on the speed limit signs being up to date and, crucially, visible to the camera. With the increasing use of only one sign on entering the new l...

Re: New Owner, Couple of questions please.

Depending on the spec of your car, the current speed limit can be detected by the camera behind the interior mirror and displayed on the virtual cockpit. However the speed limit that is displayed can also be picked up from the map database, and over-ridden. At times, my car tells me I am in a 20 mph...

Re: 2020 Karoq

Routemaster is correct in that the LED interior light option cost £350 for the SEL, and I presume this is the option that gives you the variable colours and footwell lights. You can easily tell if the original owner added it to the car as it also projects the word SKODA below the front doors when yo...

Re: 2020 Karoq

The SEL came with the 8 inch Amundson satnav system as standard, or optionally with the 9.2 inch Columbus satnav instead.

The Amundsen looks like this:

If you have ambient lighting available to you, it is controlled by the Car / Settings / Lights menu screen.

Re: Change in MPG- Possible eco mode error

I'd wonder about a sudden drop in external temperatures, but it's been pretty mild in the midlands recently. Is that true for you too? I know my petrol Karoq takes longer to warm up in the winter with a corresponding drop in fuel consumption - but not to the extent your diesel has.

Re: Skoda's KESSY System

The owner's manual for my MY21 Karoq explains how to disable the KESSY system, but it resets the next time you unlock the car so not permanently. Things change, so this may not be true for later cars - you'll need to check in your manual (in the Keys, locks and alarm system / KESSY locking section) ...

Re: Have I a dirty sensor?

The light assistant also reacts to high contrast as well as low light levels. So I find that if I am driving with a setting sun behind me, it will switch the headlights on so I am more visible to cars driving into the sun.
