Quite simply, it blanks the infotainment screen 10 seconds after any action (switch on, change radio station etc) the option is there to display a clock and the date or blank it completely. OK, I've had a play and I am actually still not sure what difference the setting makes. However, I can confirm that the setting is not persistent and needs to be reset following an ignition off / on cycle. I cannot see a way to make the setting persist. Sorry.

Thanks Milfmog. As suggested, I have entered Skoda Assist's number in mobile and now keep a copy accessible in cabin. Ged, I have one of the credit card sized plastic cards with the Skoda numbers on it. It lives in the little cubby by my right knee, where I recently discovered a slot just the right...

OK, I'll have at look at mine and see how it behaves (It is not something I have worried about, just left it at the default.)

I have the Amundsen system, but since there is only one set of instructions for this, I guess they should behave the same way.

I'd be interested to know more about the light assist. I have not seen anything about how well that works or even what it actually does. The brochure and website information was as cruddy as most of the rest of the Skoda website.
