Re: Sat Nav issue - help please
The problem with residential postcodes in the UK is that they can cover quite a large area, so the MIB3 satnavs, only take you to the centre of that area and identify it by its lat/long coords. And the way the MIB3 software is designed, you can't then select an actual address. Workrounds are to iden...

Re: USB-C Query
Hi Chris Many thanks for the reply and will give this a go but do you need to alter the way the music is copied somehow? Russell. I just copy the music files from my PC onto a USB memory stick (the ones I quoted above have a USB-C connector for the car on one end, and the older USB connector for th...

Re: Is there different keys used on 2021model year
Yes it should be as the motion-detecting KESSY keys were introduced for MY20 (ie from summer 2019).
I presume the new keys are a bit cheaper to make, and may be a bit smaller too?

Re: Is there different keys used on 2021model year
Mine has the same swing out key blade, and that is the one shown in the 2020-07 manual. But as you say, the later version of the manual shows a different key (as well, I think from memory). So it looks like the latest MY21 Karoqs may well have a different type of key.

As kodiaq says... a cheaper repair may be possible from an independent garage, and sourcing a replacement from a breaker's.

Re: Cabin Soundproofing
Others have said there is less soundproofing on a Karoq than the Tiguan gets. Presumably VW's way of making sure Skoda isn't allowed to match VW's perceived quality? It's the same with the harder plastic door panels. But the main noise I notice in my TSI is tyre rumble rather than engine noise. I th...

Re: USB-C Query
I've got the old iPod Classic, but that needed a special adapter to link to my previous Golfs, and won't link to the Karoq as it is pre-Bluetooth. My solution was to transfer my music library to a USB-C memory stick (something like this: https://www.mymemory.co.uk/mymemory-256gb-dual-usb-c-usb-3-1-f...

Re: Car locking if unattended
Nope... I can't recall any car that I've owned deciding to lock itself if you leave it open. The only related features are that it will lock the doors if you unlock them but don't open one (as you state above) and also that it can lock the doors when you drive off (handy if you drive in bandit count...

Re: E10 Petrol
Quote from the Green Flag link I included above: Will it harm your car? ------------------------------ If you use E10 in a non-compatible car over a long period of time, it may well cause lasting damage to the engine. Bioethanol has corrosive properties and Department for Transport (DfT) research su...

Re: Karoq SE L 70 Plate-Amundsen Infotainment
Hi RogerT, Unfortunately all modern cars are now virtually computers on wheels, needing thousands of chips to operate. Hopefully you will have bought your car from a Skoda dealer, who you have just been paid tens of thousands of pounds for your new car. Authorised dealers should have at least one pe...
