Re: KESSY

Simple experiment: Start your car then put the key in your pocket and walk away. It keeps running, just throws a message that the key is no longer detected. A thief will simply take the stolen car to somewhere with the appropriate kit and program a new key or, equally likely, break the car up for sp...

Re: Progressive Steering + Dynamic Chassis Control

I suspect (but it is only a guess) that the dynamic chassis control is one of those toys that people play with for a while then forget about. That was certainly my experience in my V70R. Once the novelty wore off I just left it set to standard and accepted that the chassis engineers know far more ab...

Re: KESSY

I'm with you, I do not like KESSY it is clever for its' own sake and is a backward step in terms of security. Unfortunately, this style of system is becoming more common across all manufacturers. If signal boosters / amplifiers / repeaters (call them whatever you like) are not yet common in Ireland ...

Re: KESSY

Hi, Yesterday we went to Skoda dealer to do a test drive on karoq. Then we discussed the safety of the KESSY, the guy told if the key is far (more than a foot so), couldn't start the car. Then we tested, that was correct. if the key not near, couldn't start, dashboard indication came "Key not ...

Re: Uncomfortable Seat

I am 6'3" with a similar inside leg measurement to you and do not have a problem with posture related discomfort. I use a mid-height position on the seat pan and sit a little further forward and more upright than I would in a lower car. This has proved comfortable for me. There is lots of advic...

Re: 1.0 TSI OR 2.0 TDI

I guess the 1.0L being less powerful than 1.5 may be the reason it's better with a manual box, but there's not much in it really A similar situation exists with the 1.5TSi front wheel drive: 6 gear manual: 40.9 - 37.7 mpg (124 g/km carbon) 7 gear DSG: 38.2 - 35.8 mpg (128 g/km carbon) 7 gear DSG 4x...

Re: New Skoda Baby SUV KAMIQ

That looks nothing like the rendering, god awful wheels and and a nothing looking car. Yup, another bland looks-like-everything-else SUV. Just what the world needs. (Not that the Karoq or Kodiaq styling is any more interesting). The Karoq is a better car than the Yeti, but it has none of the person...

Re: 1.0 TSI OR 2.0 TDI

im surprised you think the manual would give better fuel consumption than dsg. All relative to who is driving and their driving style. I find in normal use, going up through the gears ( dsg ) not foot on the floor, the dsg changes up just above 2000rpm drops to 1500rpm or thereabouts and continues ...

Re: 1.0 TSI OR 2.0 TDI

Hi Thomas, Your answers would all push me towards the petrol engines and, even with the long lead time, the 1.5 would be my choice (but be aware that some owners with 1.5 and manual transmissions have reported issues with the engine when running cold). However, there are plenty of happy 1.0TSi owner...

Re: 1.0 TSI OR 2.0 TDI

This is an almost impossible question to answer without a little more information. For instance: Do you tend to do lots of short journeys or longer motorway cruises? Do you want a sporty driver or would you prefer a more relaxed drive? Will you use the car to tow with? Do you expect to keep the car ...
