Re: Karoq 1.5 DSG consumption

Too soon to tell after just over 1000 miles, but I get 43mpg on a run in E mode which is the same as our 150 PS diesel Yeti.

Re: Electric handbrake query

There is a button next to the gear lever to switch off the auto handbrake. If the brakes fail, then the handbrake switch held up will then operate the brakes. I tried it and it was like hitting a brick wall, so it's not recommended.

Thanks Tom. The Yeti tyres are 1" less in diameter.

Cross climate tyres from Yeti to Karoq

I was considering selling my 4 Goodyear 4-seasons tyres on Alutec rims to put towards buying cross climate tyres for the Karoq. However, I've contacted a local tyre depot and the K's 215/50/R18 tyres as X climates are not available from the major manufacturers in this size. However, when I did some ...

Electric handbrake query

The electric handbrake is brilliant. However, altough I can't envisage how it could occur, if the battery failed and the car needed to be towed, how would the brakes be released? Also, does the handbrake work on a different set of inboard discs?

Re: WLAN

Thanks Clacson. I have registered but now my wife's 'phone is connected to the Internet I still can't log in. It goes as far as asking for the network key. I've tried the WLAN code and the Hotspot code, but no luck. If it needs the Vodafone netwoek key, that is inside with the SIM card and 'phone is...

Re: WLAN

Thanks for the answers. The 'phone is set up for hands-free operation. What I've been trying to do is to link the 'phone to the WLAN just to see what Skoda Connect can do for me. There isn't a slot in the Amundsen for a SIM card, but Skoda offer an expensive adaptor to plug in to the USB port.

WLAN

We are having trouble setting-up our WLAN, so we need to go to a Vodafone shop to sort out the Internet access on my wife's Android 'phone. Although it's 'free' for the first year, it seems expensive afterwards and to my inexperienced eye, the features seem limited, particularly as we hardly do any ...

Re: ALARM

I may be stating the obvious, but the red light on the top front of the driver's door stops flashing when the key fob lock is pressed twice to disable the sensors. I've always used this in preference to the button on the door pillar in the Yetis, so I'm just continuing the practice.

1.5 litre 150PS petrol engine cold running issues

Has anyone experienced the problems reported by some owners of VAG-group vehicles with the above engine, namely hesitant running when cold? I haven't with our DSG version, particularly as the water temperature gets to 90 degrees quickly, but VAG has is apparently 'developing a solution'.
