Auxiliary Heater causing high idle speed.
Having solved my problem via another topic thought I would share solution. During cold weather i.e. 5c or under the Auxillary Heater ( 1.6 TDI SEL ) automatically kicks in and as a result causes idle rpm to increase to constant 1000rpm preventing battery drain. Solution is turn this off via the heat...

Re: High idle when cold.
Brilliant update by Andren -thank you so much .
Turned off auxiliary heater from air con menu and hey presto all is well. No fast idle and car seems to run much better from cold. Idle is now 750rpm irrespective of what else is turned on.

Re: High idle when cold.
Agreed - I've had many diesels last one being a Sportage and non behaved this way however it's clear the Karoq is designed to do this in cold weather. MPG will always suffer in cold weather as optimum only achieved when engine hot and always takes longer in cold so expect 5-10% drop during winter. H...

Re: High idle when cold.
I have exactly same on my 1.6TDI SEL - Have experimented and can tell you following. From stone cold any form of heating manual or auto will result in 1000rpm idle. Turn everything off and idle is 750rpm. Heated seat on and nothing else idle is 750rpm. Heater on idle is 1000 - turn it off and immedi...

Disgraceful pdi.
They are also supposed to demonstrate all car systems/functions including sat nav on car handover. You should have been asked to sign form confirming they did this to your satisfaction.

Re: Mpg
Select car from buttons on side of screen Options then appear one of which gives instant/long term/since refuel averages for MPG in real time. These can be left on display if you wish. Same options also available in your small info screen by scrolling through options. Screen also shows range availab...

Re: Mpg
Just done 320 ml motorway trip to sons in my 1.6 TDI SEL in normal mode. 57mpg cruising at 65-75mph . Car only week old so expect this to improve. My previous Sportage 1.7 TDI only managed 48mpg on same journey.
