Re: New Scout, New to Skoda, New to Auto, New to 4x4
Hello Dan, So far so good! Funnily enough Meadens had a an emerald green Scout and the Petrol blue Edition. I did look at the Scout and like you was not over exited about the grey and rust coloured seat material. It was cheaper than the Edition by about £250 , was pre-reg and only 50 miles with a to...

Re: first service
Welcome to the forum. The service scheduling system can be set in 2 different ways. 12 months or 12k miles whichever is soonest or the 'as required system', where the clever gubbins notes the condition of the engine oil and tells you when it needs a service. After only 400 miles the oil is obviously...

Re: New Scout, New to Skoda, New to Auto, New to 4x4
Welcome to the forum. I have had 7 Skodas all DSG and just bought my first 4x4 Karoq Edition. The Skoda 4x4 is what is generally called a 'soft roader'. It will get you out of a wet field and up a gravel track, but don't start trying to do any serious off roading. The Karoq Scout, unlike the Octavia...

Well done!
If you don't ask, you don't get.
The last two cars I have bought, I have been given a 'firm' price to change both ended in £x250 & I have said "I like round numbers, how about £x000" and both times they have agreed. Every little counts.

Re: What annoys you about your Karoq?
Why can’t it coast in normal drive mode. That’s the main reason I use Eco. Tom Does coasting actually save any fuel? An injected engine will shut off fuel completely when on the over-run and so use nothing, but if it is coasting the car will need to use fuel to prevent the engine stalling. I am sur...

Re: What annoys you about your Karoq?
Drive select mode resetting to 'normal' every time you switch off. I want to leave it on 'Eco'.(Cos I'm a stingy old sod! )
Seriously though, I'm trying to see if it really DOES improve the MPG.

I hope you have advised your Insurance Company?? It may also nullify your Skoda warranty. Beware! Apparently the fitment of a non OE towbar can invalidate your insurance and how many of us have popped down to the nearest towbar fitter and had a Witter or similar fitted and not even considered tellin...
