Re: Skoda speed limiter
Which speed limiter are you using? My Karoq has a lower stalk on the left of the steering wheel, which controls the adaptive cruise control or speed limiter. It defaults to cruise control, so when I start the engine I use the 'Assist' button on the steering wheel to select speed limiter instead. The...

Re: Lane Assist
This was probably an option on your cars, but now it seems to be fitted as standard... and worse it will be activated each time you start the engine until you deactivate it! On my car it was fitted as an option, but at least it respects my decision not to use it and stays deactivated.

Re: 4x4 button
The Off Road button puts the car into its 'Off Road mode. This works at a speed up to 18mph, and its function can be divided into three main groups: start and traction support, braking support, and steep downhill support. When it’s activated, all the related assistance systems are switched into a sp...

Re: What kind of DSG?
I believe that: The DQ 200-7F (dry) gearbox can be fitted to front-wheel drive Karoqs with the 1.0TSI, 1.5TSI or 1.6TDI engines. The DQ381-7A (wet) gearbox can be fitted to 4x4 Karoqs with the 1.5TSI, 2.0TSI or 2.0TDI engines. There may well be an identity plate on the gearbox showing its type and s...

Re: Servicing schedule
Cars seem to come from the factory set to variable servicing, which is great for business use and high mileage drivers. As I only do around 7,000 miles per year nowadays, I prefer to have the car set to annual services when I buy it - any dealer can do this when you have the car serviced. If you are...

Re: Servicing schedule
Your car may be set to annual servicing or variable servicing - the date it gives for its next service should tell you which is applicable. For annual servicing, the details are shown here: https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/servicing-maintenance-fixed-price For variable servicing, the car will decide w...

Re: Skoda's KESSY System
As I explained above, the key for recent cars stops transmitting when it has been stationary for a few minutes. So even if your key is in your pocket, it will not be transmitting when you are sleeping overnight (when the vast majority of relay thefts take place). Pressing the door dimple as you lock...

Re: Just bought a 2020 Karoq
Welcome to the forum. Feel free to ask away
Depending on the options fitted to your new car (is the 4x4 always DSG or do you have a manual gearbox?) there can be even more differences! With my DSG 4x4 the engine will restart as soon as a stopped car in front of me moves away!

Re: software update.
How odd. If that was the update to cure the false Traffic Assist warnings, it was applied to my car last summer, and the fault has not returned since then.

Re: Factory fitted tow bar
Good point Soup. I only used my towbar to tow a light dinghy, and hold a bike carrier, so it was greased for the dinghy trailer - but I never had any problems with the bike carrier moving around.
