Re: D/S on gear lever

Okay, I'll accept it could be better written, but I'd still ask you to persevere with it if you can :) On a related topic, if you happen to knock the gear lever to the left, you'll find it is now in Manual rather than automatic (with M1, M2, M3 etc displayed on the instrument panel. This lets you ch...

Re: D/S on gear lever

S is the Sport mode - which hangs on to a lower gear for longer and so helps you overtake slow tractors on country roads etc. The Instrument panel will show you using gears S1, S2, S3 etc instead of D1, D2 D3 etc. You engage it by pulling the gear lever back momentarily, and reset it to Drive mode b...

Re: Sat Nav!...

1) Depending on menu settings (I think from memory) the voice control can be activated either by pressing the button on the steering wheel, or by it hearing the words 'OK Laura'. Now the latter can obviously be confusing if your wife is called 'Laura', and I'm pretty sure I have that option turned o...

Re: Electric tailgate question

You're right Kodiaq,

Either I'd caught it on an off say before, or I wasn't pressing the button long enough :)

Re: Electric tailgate question

The distance from the key to the tailgate seems to be quite critical. I can unlock the doors remotely from tens of feet away, but I need to be within a few feet of the tailgate. Perhaps this is a safety feature to stop the tailgate rising and hitting someone closer to it?

Re: Drumming Noise

Some thoughts... I had a 2014 1.4TSI Golf SV before my Karoq, and that was a lovely engine too, although it was probably the lower powered version than yours. But the problem is both engines were from before VAG started concentrating so much on reducing emissions and fuel consumption. A few years ag...

Re: New Karoq Sportline 2.0 TSI DSG 4x4

For what it's worth, last year my car was built around two weeks after it was allocated a firm production slot, and then delivered and PDI'd around three weeks after that. But the delivery times could be all over the place now - faster because of less cars in the pipeline, or slower because of less ...

Re: Chip delays.

Interesting that Ford and Volvo are now stripping out safety features from their cars to maintain supplies - and that Ford's Puma no longer has a 5 star rating if you buy the trim level without those features!!
