Re: Towing Mirrors

In case this helps anyone else, just reporting on the outcome. Because my car's mirrors have a clear triangular window underneath, I was not sure if they have cameras in or not. Looked like there might be tiny lenses in one corner but hard to tell. Does anyone know what the clear windows are for un...

Re: Skoda's KESSY System

My 2018 has the system where you lock the car with the key button and within 5 seconds touch the dimple on the handle. The red light on the door then flashes fast. To test whether it has worked walk away Wait a little bit then see if the door unlocks the keyless way by touching the inside of the han...

A twitch of the steering wheel will also restart the engine.

Re: high engine oil level

This is due to failed DPF regenerations. The system raises the combustion temperature by pumping extra diesel into the combustion chamber to raise the temperature in the exhaust and burn off the carbon deposits . If the regen is stopped or incomplete then the extra diesel washes down the bores to th...

Re: KESSY Keyless entry

Yes, back of the hand is the way to go.
It is too easy to touch the inside of the handle, confusing the lock/unlock system. Back of the hand precludes this confusion.

Re: Parcel shelf replacement

Re roll up type. Mine sagged near the end of the 3 year warranty. Dealer replaced it before warranty ran out. I now no longer keep it permanently fixed to the hatch.

Re: Change in MPG- Possible eco mode error

Winter diesel is less efficient because of the anti gelling additives and the engine will take longer to warm up in colder temperatures. Stronger winds at this time of year can also make a difference.

Re: stop start not working

The stop/start on my low mileage, mainly short journeys (20000 miles in 5 years), 1.5 Tsi Karoq rarely works.
Remember charging only takes place when other demands on the engine are low.

Re: Re program key fob

Sorry to state the obvious but you do have the batteries in the correct way round?

Is there a little red light on the key fob?
Does it come on when you press a button?

Re: DSG Gearing

I find a slight lift of the throttle will get the car to change up. I find this more so in a lower gear. I run my car in Eco mode which changes up earlier anyway.
