Re: Run flat tyres? Winter tyres? Michelin CrossClimate tyres?

Thanks Tom, I have sent an email to the Skoda garage where I have ordered my car, to find out whether it's possible to downgrade from 18" to 17" wheels on an SE-L without having to buy a completely separate set of alloys. But I'm not overly optimistic.... Also send an email to Skoda UK and push the...

Re: Run flat tyres? Winter tyres? Michelin CrossClimate tyres?

Michelin don’t do Cross Climates for the SEL 18” rims. It’s an “odd” size, not sure if there are any all weather tyres that fit!

Re: Diesel particle filter

Sorry, you asked a question and we gave you reasons not to buy a diesel. Dpfs are designed to burn off the soot on a regular basis. Too many interrupted regenerations is the problem. The usual indicators of a regeneration taking place are the engine running slightly hotter and the tickover revs bein...

Re: Drive mode - remembering/storing preferred default mode

There are different views on this. I had the individual set to Eco and heavier steering. I found that the gearbox would reset itself to normal D mode but the steering stayed the same. The interesting part was that my wife complained when driving, and using her key, that the steering was heavy. I the...

Re: Diesel particle filter

Modern diesels and short journeys don’t mix. Too many failed regenerations as well as blocking the dpf also brings into play the possibility of engine oil dilution by unburnt diesel (check engine oil level regularly and beware if it is raised). Re: KESSY

I thought that once you had access to the OBD port you could then reprogram a new key.

Re: Tyres ‘crabbing’

Thanks for all the replies. Our Karoq 1.5tsi dsg Edition in Moon White has Bridgestone Potenza tyres. An internet search reveals some Mercedes & Porsche owners have experienced this phenomenon. I do think it is tyre related rather than the car, it is encouraging to learn Colin hasn’t had a problem ...
