Re: To buy a 1.5 or 2.0 Diesel engine Karoq.

I can get 65+ on my pigeon infested journey to the station in the morning but then again I'd expect something like that in a diesel. Not so good yet on the motorway - steady motorway speeds still only seeing 47-49 mpg and I'm at 5000+ miles on the clock now. Hopefully will improve but that's not a g...

Re: Evening all

Hi Rod, don't know about the hiring bit but the 1.6 seems very sensitive to speed when it comes to MPG. On my daily journey to and from the station - 10 miles each way on a mix of B and white roads I can easily get 60+ MPG. However, at motorway speeds this drops to around 47 MPG. I've completed just...

Re: Have you lot all died?

Not yet! Current whinge is the under reporting of actual fuel levels in the tank leading to at least 10 ltrs remaining when well into the red zone. Decreases the car's perceived range quite a bit. I've got a 500+ mile drive in less than two weeks and I've got a horrible feeling the car is goin...

Re: Auto Hold Issues

Hi Ian, I tend to hold the car using the brake pedal (left foot) then release and accelerate as needed with the right foot. It's a version of launch control but without the excitement. I have heard of launch control but confess I struggle to identify a need unless drag racing and I won't be doing th...

Re: Skoda Karoq

Hi quinton77, there's a wealth of information - the good, the bad and the ugly throughout this forum and others. Despite my own issues, which are easily dealt with by turning off auto-hold the car's positive points far outweigh the bad (in my case at least). Regarding trim levels I have an SE L, whi...

Auto Hold Issues

Referring to my recent posts about hesitant DSG issues further testing over the weekend has identified the auto-hold function as the culprit. I found a quiet industrial estate and did a series of runs simulating pulling out into fast moving traffic at roundabouts and junctions and also the same assu...

Re: What annoys you about your Karoq?

Thanks for the replies regarding my adventures with DSG. I was able to replicate the problem by simulating the same conditions on a quite road. Revs shot up to in excess of 3,000 before the car started to move. I understand from other forums that the cars systems should provide better control of rev...

Re: What annoys you about your Karoq?

Garbage switch for the mirror heaters? I hadn't realised there was one! I thought the mirror heaters must be linked to front or rear window demist or both. That explains the indifferent clearing of my mirrors the other day. Will now search for the switch. On a recent drive to and from North Wales my...

Re: What annoys you about your Karoq?

A tendency when needing to enter a roundabout a bit a smartish to think about it for a bit before responding to throttle inputs. It is becoming a real problem. This with a 1.6 diesel by the way and not the well publicised problems of the 1.5 petrol. Agree wholeheartedly with the Speedo issues - bad ...
