It works between 1500 and 4000 rpm, when load is not needed. Two cylinders are deactivated leading to less fuel consumption. You realize that by the noise that hardens a bit on the engine plus a screen display notification reporting so.

I can't believe that 40 MPG is not a good enough figure for you guys. Even 35 is great for a car that size, running with a petrol engine.
My 1.6 Diesel Qashqai (which Karoq is replacing) )was doing 36MPG (city mostly driving) and was quite satisfied about it.
