Re: Karoq in the snow
I used Michelin CrossClimates on my Yeti and when I compared them with the original fit summer tyres I can't say that I ever noticed any fall-off in performance during the summer but the difference in winter and on slippery, wet surfaces was very marked. The Karoq came with a set of Bridgestone Tour...

Re: Karoq in the snow
In response to the original question: I found the original fit Bridgestones to be utterly useless when pulling away, they would spin under a light foot even in warm dry conditions. Once they were rolling they felt OK but did not really inspire any confidence when cornering enthusiastically. I have n...

Re: Auto locking doors
...the manual specifically warns you not to lock a door with someone inside, which would suggest it is your decision whether to lock the door or not. That's not quite how I understand it. I have never known my car to lock itself when parked apart from when I unlock it but then don't open a door wit...

Re: Auto locking doors
The doors auto-lock when the speed gets above about 10mph. Once stopped pulling the interior door handle in the front doors will allow them to open (I have no idea how the back doors work - I have never sat in the back :)). There is a button in the centre console to unlock (or lock) the doors should...

Re: Navigation and maps
The simplest solution is to use Google maps for navigation. Always up to date and without the "quirks" of Skoda's maps. along with KESSY I would have preferred to save the cost of the builtin sat nav.

Re: Key failure with no warning
Update: Today my Panasonic CR2025s arrived. I fitted the batteries to both keys and, without doing anything else, the lights on the keys worked and the keys operated the locks perfectly. So, based on a sample far too small to be statistically significant, it does look like brand new Duracells are no...

Re: Random bleeping noise
Traffic sign recognition; you can set the "allowed" excess to 0, 3, 6, 9 or 12 mph (from memory)
I do find it useful but it does get fooled on occasions if a side road speed limit sign is readable as you approach for example.
Have fun,
Ian.

Re: Key failure with no warning
I’m intrigued how you managed to start & drive the car after unlocking using the mechanical option? My experience was, the alarm sounded constantly & no way could I stop it or start the engine, so completely stranded. When opening the door with the mechanical key, the alarm will sound (if it does n...
