Re: Adding apps to Android Play
Good question, also been trying to find out. I know that some apps only show up if they are on the phone, like Waze showed up day 1 but when I actually came to try it in comparison to built in nav and google maps, it was missing. When I looked on the phone it was marked as not frequently used. When ...

Re: SATNAV loses position
What kind of roads were you on when the satnav went off position? Used to get the same whenever driving in the city, tall/glass buildings bounce the satellite signals and you end up being several streets over. Compared with the what the GPS on my phone said and it was also in wrong but very differen...

Re: Skoda connect, infotainment, updates and user profiles
Sounds about right, I put the phone in flight mode and got in the car, the nav told me it had received a route ( i sent earlier on with connect app). So the esim provides limited data access and the various licences authorize the use of specific services. When I use Android-Auto is asks me to confir...

Re: Loss of pressure detected
The standard tyre pressure monitor works by comparing the rotational speed of the tyres over time - if a tyre has lost pressure compared with the others it will be rotating slightly faster - and uses the ABS sensors to do this. I would expect the dealer to have set the system up when preparing it f...

Re: Skoda connect, infotainment, updates and user profiles
There is a built-in SIM since MY21 cars to enable the emergency call system (which is licensed for 10 years). I don't use the Android apps but presume they will connect via your phone's SIM and so use your phone's data allowance rather than the car's? I can't see Skoda allowing unlimited access to ...

Re: No boot release button in 2021 SE L ?
I know there is a regular external release, but that didn't unlock the boot, even though the missus had a fob in her pocket. I assume because I was in the car. I need to change the settings is still on the default of open drivers door only. The manual shows a boot release on the drivers door (Button...

Re: Skoda connect, infotainment, updates and user profiles
You can get details of the Skoda Connect system at https://www.skoda.co.uk/owners/skoda-connect If you have a valid licence, then your car should download updates the the map database automatically when it finds an update. You will not get any indication of this however except that the system infor...

Loss of pressure detected
only had the car a day and this warning just beeped up. I haven't set the pressure yet... Is the pressure sensor actually based on the pressure of the actual tyres, because it doesn't give a pressure reading or anything, I assumed it is just detecting a change in balance or something... What is the ...

No boot release button in 2021 SE L ?
Went to pick up the missus from the shops and went to pop the boot open for her but couldn't find a boot release. First time I've seen a car where you couldn't at least release the catch, even if it doesn't automatically open and close. She went to open the boot manually, but it was locked and she c...

Skoda connect, infotainment, updates and user profiles
Just got a 9 month old Karoq SE L and getting to know it. Was looking on skoda website an found Satnav DB database update was available after I entered just the VIN number but not sure which version I already have (where do I find the current installed version?). Also wondered if these updates are r...
